Gary Gregg , Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone
Over the past 25 years Gary has
performed with many DC ensembles, including Blue Sky 5 (plus 2), Chaise
Lounge, The Cutaways, the Tuxedo Park Orchestra, Hot Jazz, Imperial Palms
Orchestra, New Columbia Swing Orchestra, Radio King Orchestra, Peaches O'dell
Orchestra and Lush Life. Perhaps the area’s leading proponent of swing
clarinet and hot 40's tenor his playing provides local big bands and smaller
ensembles with both the soaring clarinet and "down home" tenor playing
reminiscent of the swing era. Gary grew up in Las Vegas and began his
professional playing career in Phoenix, Arizona. Gary was also with the
Federal Jazz Commission and currently performs with The Washington
Conservatory Traditional Jazz Ensemble. This "moldy fig" group performs early
traditional jazz music concerts, classes and special events in the Washington
